Farmington High School is proud to congratulate senior Caitlin Bracy on being named a Semifinalist in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program. More than 1.2 million juniors from approximately 20,000 high schools entered the competition by taking the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). Semifinalists represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, making this an outstanding academic achievement.
“Having Caitlin as part of Farmington High School is an honor,” FHS Principal Jon Purifoy said. “She is an incredibly hardworking student. We are extremely proud of her and excited to see where her hard work takes her next.”
More than 16,000 students nationwide were selected as Semifinalists and now have the opportunity to advance to Finalist standing and compete for approximately 6,700 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $24 million. Semifinalists must complete an extensive application process highlighting their academic record, leadership, school and community involvement, honors, and other accomplishments.
Farmington High School congratulates Caitlin on this prestigious recognition and wishes her the best as she continues in the National Merit Scholarship competition.
