On August 26th the Farmington FFA competed in the Arkansas State Dairy Judging Contest. The contest was held in conjunction with the Washington County Fair. Members were comprised of Kalleigh Jo Shreve, Sawyer Hill, Justin Calhoun, and Jason Calhoun. They competed against other FFA chapters in Arkansas. Teammates were quizzed on ID selection, practical exam, quality selection, along with giving oral justifications. Justin was 2nd high individual overall, along with brother Jason being 4th overall individual. Sawyer was 13th overall and Kalleigh Jo was 20th. Those totals combined for a 1st place overall for the team, allowing them to walk away as State Champions! They now earned the qualification to represent the state of Arkansas in the National FFA Dairy Judging Contest, this October in Indianapolis, Indiana. The dairy team is coached by Farmington High School Agriculture instructors Seth Jones and Clayton Sallee. Congratulations to all involved! #ESED #Cardstudentsareworthit
