On April 15th, 2025, Coach Brad Johnson resigned as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Farmington High School. After 16 unforgettable years at the helm of the Farmington Lady Cardinals basketball program, Coach Johnson is stepping down to begin an exciting new chapter as an assistant coach at the University of Arkansas.

“Brad has been a friend of mine for over 30 years, and I couldn’t be more proud of everything he’s accomplished at Farmington,” said Farmington Athletic Director Beau Thompson. “He’s poured his heart into this program and now gets to pursue a lifelong dream—coaching at the collegiate level. Brad took over a strong program and elevated it to even greater heights. What he’s built here will be incredibly difficult to match.”

Since taking over the girls' basketball program in 2009, Coach Johnson has built a dynasty defined by excellence, grit, and an unwavering commitment to his players. His overall high school girls coaching record is a remarkable 403–106, reflecting a 79% winning percentage across 491 total career wins. Coach Johnson's teams at Farmington have amassed an incredible list of achievements, including:

  • 7 Conference Championships (2014, 2015, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025)

  • 6 District Tournament Championships (2018–2024)

  • 4 Regional Tournament Championships (2014, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024)

  • 4 State Championships (2020, 2023, 2024, 2025)

  • Multiple State Finals, Semifinals, and Quarterfinal Appearances — highlighted by a streak of state-level qualifications nearly every season.

  • His 2024 and 2025 squads were especially dominant. They finished as the #1 ranked team in Arkansas regardless of classification and earned recognition as the #5 Small School program nationally by MaxPreps.
